Laminate Flooring Installation Cost 2026: $2,500–$4,500
About 500 square feet of click-lock laminate, plank and labor in one price, often clusters around $2,500–$4,500. A single room costs less. A glue-down, a tear-out, and a subfloor repair cost more.

Planning range
About 500 square feet of click-lock laminate on one level of a single-family house, plank and labor included, floating on a floor that is already flat enough. A single room, a larger floor, a glue-down, old-floor removal the bid leaves out, a separate underlayment roll the bid leaves out, and a subfloor repair the bid leaves out are separate.
Typical planning range $2,500 to $4,500. National spread $300 to $19,500.
- DIY or hire
- Hire a glue-down and any floor whose subfloor has failed. A rectangular click-lock room, on a floor that is already flat and dry, can be a careful DIY if you will cut the planks and haul the waste.
- Repair or replace
- Replace a few planks when the damage is one spot and the product is still made. Replace the floor when the wear layer is gone or the core is swollen. Keep solid hardwood when it can still be sanded.
Installing about 500 square feet of click-lock laminate in a US house — the plank and the labor in one price, floating on a floor that is already flat enough — often clusters around $2,500–$4,500. That is the typical laminate flooring installation cost. How much does laminate flooring installation cost in that scope? It is the click-lock middle of the size row below, at $5–$9 a square foot, not the $13 top. Laminate flooring cost, for that floor, is the same band. The cost to install laminate flooring, for that floor, is the same band. Laminate flooring cost per square foot, installed, is typically $3–$13, and the typical band is the click-lock middle of that rate on about 500 square feet. Click-lock laminate flooring cost is that $5–$9. The wider national spread, about $300–$19,500, covers a 10×10 at $3 a square foot at the low end and about 1,500 square feet at $13 a square foot at the high end. New vinyl plank is the other floating floor. New hardwood is real wood. New carpet is the soft floor. These are typical planning ranges, not a survey and not a quote.
This page is laminate on an existing single-family floor. A bid may call it laminate flooring installation, laminate flooring, or a click-lock floor. It is not click-lock vinyl, which is the vinyl plank flooring guide. It is not new hardwood plank. It is not wall-to-wall carpet. Sheet vinyl and luxury vinyl tile are different products.
The price of the floor is the plank and the labor that puts it down. Square feet are the first cut. The method is the second. A per-foot rate is a way to check a row. It is not a second bill. Price the floor you can measure.
The rows below are ways to read one job. They are not added together. The size table is laminate at $3–$13 a square foot, plank and labor included, on a floor that is already flat enough. The method table is that same installed floor, by how it goes down, and it replaces the generic rate. Click-lock is the typical method. Glue-down replaces click-lock. It is not a second floor on top of it. Use an add-on row only for a line the size row does not include. A tear-out the proposal already names is not a second tear-out. A pad the proposal already names is not a second pad.
| Floor | Square feet | Typical installed cost |
|---|---|---|
| 10×10 room | 100 | $300–$1,300 |
| 12×12 bedroom | 144 | $432–$1,872 |
| One larger room | 200 | $600–$2,600 |
| Several rooms | 500 | $1,500–$6,500 |
| Most of one floor | 1,000 | $3,000–$13,000 |
| A larger floor | 1,500 | $4,500–$19,500 |
| Method | Typical installed cost per square foot |
|---|---|
| Click-lock | $5–$9 |
| Glue-down | $7–$11 |
| Add-on | Typical planning range |
|---|---|
| Old floor removal, when the bid leaves it out | $2–$3 per sq ft |
| Underlayment roll, when the plank has no pad and the bid leaves it out | $0.30–$0.60 per sq ft |
| Subfloor repair, when the bid leaves it out | $2 per sq ft |
The method rows replace the generic rate inside the size row. Do not add glue-down on top of a size row that was already priced as click-lock. The add-on rows are lines the size row left out. A removal the proposal already includes is not the removal row on top.
A 10×10 is 100 square feet and is typically $300–$1,300. One hundred times $3 is $300, the floor of the row and the floor of the wider spread. One hundred times $13 is $1,300, the top. One hundred times $9 is $900, inside the row and under the typical band. One hundred times $5 is $500, click-lock at the floor of that method, still under the typical band. The typical band is about 500 square feet. This room can land on a few hundred dollars and still be a different job from that 500 square foot floor. A crew that will not roll a truck for a closet can sit higher inside this row. It is not the typical band with a discount. From $300–$1,300 the job is the 10×10 row. Do not add the 500 square foot row on top of it.
A 12×12 bedroom is 144 square feet and is typically $432–$1,872. One hundred forty-four times $3 is $432, the floor. One hundred forty-four times $13 is $1,872, the top. One hundred forty-four times $9 is $1,296, inside the row and under the typical band. One hundred forty-four times $5 is $720, inside the row and under the typical band. The whole row sits under $2,500. A 12×12 at the top of the rate is still one bedroom. It is not the typical band with a discount. Do not add the 10×10 row to this one.
Two hundred square feet is typically $600–$2,600. Two hundred times $3 is $600, the floor. Two hundred times $13 is $2,600, the top, and that top is $100 past the typical floor. Two hundred times $12 is $2,400, inside the row and $100 under the typical floor. Two hundred times $9 is $1,800, inside the row and under the typical band. Two hundred times $5 is $1,000, inside the row and under the typical band. From $600–$2,500 the job sits under the typical floor and stays inside the row. The $2,600 point has crossed the typical floor by $100 and is the top of this row. It is not the typical band. Do not add the 12×12 row to this one.
About 500 square feet — several rooms, or one open living area of that size — is typically $1,500–$6,500 on the size row, and the typical band of $2,500–$4,500 is that row from $5 to $9 a square foot. Five hundred times $3 is $1,500, the floor of the row and $1,000 under the typical floor. Five hundred times $5 is $2,500, the typical floor. Five hundred times $9 is $4,500, the typical top. Five hundred times $13 is $6,500, the top of the row and $2,000 past the typical band. The overlap of the size row with the typical band is $2,500–$4,500. From $1,500–$2,500 the job sits under the typical band and stays inside the wider spread. From $4,500–$6,500 the job has left the typical band and stays inside the wider spread. This is the floor the typical band describes, at the click-lock rate, not at $13. Do not add a per-foot rate on top of this row. The per-foot reading is how the row was built.
About 1,000 square feet, most of one floor, is typically $3,000–$13,000. One thousand times $3 is $3,000, the floor of the row and inside the typical band. One thousand times $4 is $4,000, inside the typical band. One thousand times $5 is $5,000, which has left the typical band by $500 and stays inside the row. One thousand times $9 is $9,000, inside the row. One thousand times $13 is $13,000, the top. The overlap with the typical band is $3,000–$4,500. Four thousand five hundred dollars is 1,000 square feet at $4.50, and it is also 500 square feet at $9. Ask which floor the bid is. From $4,500–$13,000 the job is at or above the typical top and stays inside the wider spread. Nothing in this row is 500 square feet someone doubled and then charged twice for the trip. The truck is already there. Do not add the 500 square foot row to this one.
About 1,500 square feet is typically $4,500–$19,500. Fifteen hundred times $3 is $4,500, the floor of the row and the typical top. Fifteen hundred times $5 is $7,500, inside the row. Fifteen hundred times $9 is $13,500, inside the row. Fifteen hundred times $13 is $19,500, the top of the row and the top of the wider spread. The overlap with the typical band is the $4,500 point. From $4,500–$19,500 the job is at or above the typical top and stays inside the wider spread. The $4,500 floor is also 500 square feet at $9 and 1,000 square feet at $4.50. Ask which floor the bid is. Do not add the 1,000 square foot row to this one.
Laminate flooring cost per square foot
Laminate flooring cost per square foot is the installed floor, not the price on the box. The size rows use $3–$13, plank and labor included. Material is typically $1–$5 a square foot. Labor on top of that material is typically $2–$8 a square foot. One plus two is $3, the floor of the rate. Five plus eight is $13, the top of the rate. On 500 square feet, material at $1 and labor at $2 is $1,500. Five hundred plus $1,000 is $1,500, the floor of the size row. Material at $5 and labor at $8 is $6,500. Twenty-five hundred plus $4,000 is $6,500, the top of the size row. Use the split when the bid is split. Do not add those pieces on top of a size row that already includes them.
The typical band is $5–$9 on that 500 square feet, not the whole $3–$13. Five hundred times $5 is $2,500. Five hundred times $7 is $3,500, inside the typical band. Five hundred times $9 is $4,500. Five hundred times $13 is $6,500, the top of the row and $2,000 past the typical band. A quote of $3 a foot on 500 square feet is the floor of the size row and $1,000 under the typical floor. It can be a thin wood-look plank at the bottom of the rate. It is not the typical band with a discount.
Order 5 to 10 percent more plank than the net floor, for cuts. Five hundred square feet of floor is 25 to 50 square feet of extra plank. The extra 25 square feet at $1 is $25. The extra 50 square feet at $5 is $250. Add that only when the written price is the net square feet and the waste is named as extra. On the typical band, the floor plus that waste is $2,525–$4,750. Twenty-five hundred plus $25 is $2,525. Forty-five hundred plus $250 is $4,750. The floor stays inside the typical band. The top has left it by $250 and stays inside the 500 square foot row. An installed size row already includes a normal waste allowance. Fifty square feet on top of a row that already ordered the waste is the same plank twice.
Old floor removal, when the bid leaves it out, is typically $2–$3 a square foot. That is $400–$600 for about 200 square feet. Two hundred times $2 is $400. Two hundred times $3 is $600. Five hundred times $2 is $1,000. Five hundred times $3 is $1,500. On the typical band, the floor plus that removal is $3,500–$6,000. Twenty-five hundred plus $1,000 is $3,500. Forty-five hundred plus $1,500 is $6,000. The floor stays inside the typical band. The top has left it by $1,500 and stays inside the 500 square foot row, under that row’s $6,500 top. A new floor that goes over a sound existing floor the bid is leaving in place does not get this row. A removal the proposal already includes is not a second tear-out. If the old adhesive may contain asbestos, the test and the abatement are a different project. They are not this $2–$3.
Underlayment, when the plank has no attached pad and the bid leaves the roll out, is typically $0.30–$0.60 a square foot. One hundred square feet of that roll is $30–$60. One hundred times $0.30 is $30. One hundred times $0.60 is $60. Five hundred times $0.30 is $150. Five hundred times $0.60 is $300. On the typical band, the floor plus that roll is $2,650–$4,800. Twenty-five hundred plus $150 is $2,650. Forty-five hundred plus $300 is $4,800. The floor stays inside the typical band. The top has left it by $300 and stays inside the 500 square foot row. The labor rate already includes rolling and taping a pad. This row is the roll, not a second labor line. A plank with an attached pad does not get this row. A roll the proposal already includes is not a second roll.
Subfloor repair, when the bid leaves a failed subfloor out, is typically $2 a square foot. About 200 square feet at that rate is $400. Two hundred times $2 is $400. On the typical band, the floor plus that repair is $2,900–$4,900. Twenty-five hundred plus $400 is $2,900. Forty-five hundred plus $400 is $4,900. The floor stays inside the typical band. The top has left the typical band by $400 and stays inside the 500 square foot row. The whole 500 square feet at $2 is $1,000. Five hundred times $2 is $1,000. On the typical band, the floor plus that whole-floor repair is $3,500–$5,500. Twenty-five hundred plus $1,000 is $3,500. Forty-five hundred plus $1,000 is $5,500. The floor stays inside the typical band. The top has left the typical band by $1,000 and stays inside the 500 square foot row, under that row’s $6,500 top. A sound subfloor is not this row. A repair the proposal already includes is not a second subfloor. A soft spot the size of a closet is not a whole-floor subfloor. Price the square feet the bid names. Joist replacement is a different project. It is not this $2.
Click-lock laminate flooring cost
Click-lock laminate flooring cost is this page when the planks lock together and float. A bid that says click-lock and a bid that says laminate are the same dollars when the square feet, the method, and the labor match and both sit on the $5–$9 rate. The typical band, $2,500–$4,500, is about 500 square feet of that ordinary click-lock plank, installed. It is not a second product stacked on a size row you already have.
The cost to install laminate flooring is the installed rate when the plank and the labor are one job. Click-lock is typically $5–$9 a square foot and replaces the generic $3–$13 inside the typical band. Glue-down is typically $7–$11 and replaces the click-lock rate. Glue-down takes more time on the same feet. It is not a second $5–$9 under a click-lock price.
On 500 square feet, click-lock at $5 is $2,500, the typical floor. Click-lock at $7 is $3,500, inside the typical band. Click-lock at $9 is $4,500, the typical top. The click-lock row on this floor is the typical band. A click-lock floor and a size-row floor can both land on $4,500. Five hundred times $9 is $4,500. Ask which rate the bid used. Do not add the $3–$13 rate under a click-lock price.
On 500 square feet, glue-down at $7 is $3,500, inside the typical band. Glue-down at $9 is $4,500, the typical top. Glue-down at $11 is $5,500, $1,000 past the typical band and $1,000 under the size-row top. The overlap with the typical band is $3,500–$4,500. From $4,500–$5,500 the glue-down job has left the typical band and stays inside the 500 square foot row. A glue-down floor and a click-lock floor can both land on $4,500. Ask which method the bid is. Do not add the click-lock rate under a glue-down price.
On 100 square feet, click-lock at $5 is $500, inside the 10×10 row. One hundred times $9 is $900, inside that row. Glue-down at $7 is $700. One hundred times $11 is $1,100, inside the 10×10 row. A click-lock $900 and a glue-down $900 are the same dollars and not the same method. Do not add the click-lock 10×10 row under a glue-down price.
A higher abrasion rating, when the written price is a basic plank and the rating is named as extra, is typically $1–$3.50 a square foot. Five hundred times $1 is $500. Five hundred times $3.50 is $1,750. On the typical band, the floor plus that rating is $3,000–$6,250. Twenty-five hundred plus $500 is $3,000. Forty-five hundred plus $1,750 is $6,250. The floor stays inside the typical band. The top has left it by $1,750 and stays inside the 500 square foot row, under that row’s $6,500 top. A size row already priced at $13 does not get this line again. A rating the proposal already includes is not a second rating.
What the range includes
The typical band assumes about 500 square feet of click-lock laminate at a single-family house. The plank is in. The labor is in. The floor is already flat enough to float. Furniture, in this band, is a simple shift the owner does, or a shift the bid already names. An open 500 square feet at $5 a foot is the $2,500 floor. The same floor at $9 is the $4,500 top.
How long the work takes depends on the square feet, the cuts, and the tear-out, and the bid’s schedule is the one that counts. These are not a day count on this page.
The floor of the wider spread, near $300, is about 100 square feet at $3. One hundred times $3 is $300. It is not 500 square feet someone discounted. The top, $19,500, is about 1,500 square feet at $13. Fifteen hundred times $13 is $19,500. It is not the 500 square foot row plus every add-on. Five hundred square feet at $4,500, removal at $1,500, a pad roll at $300, and a 200 square foot subfloor repair at $400 is $6,700. Forty-five hundred plus $1,500 is $6,000. Six thousand plus $300 is $6,300. Sixty-three hundred plus $400 is $6,700. That sum has left the 500 square foot row by $200 and stays inside the 1,000 square foot row, under that row’s $13,000 top. Stacking those lines does not build the $19,500 job. The $19,500 job is the large floor at $13 a square foot.
None of the bands include new vinyl plank, new hardwood, sanding a floor you are keeping, which is the hardwood floor guide, or new wall-to-wall carpet. A subfloor repair is the add-on row only when the bid left it out. A floor that runs through a kitchen is still this plank only for the square feet of plank. The cabinets, the counters, and the layout are a different project. Do not fold the vinyl, the hardwood, or the carpet into the laminate price.
Warranties are part of the contract, and this page is not a reading of one company’s form. A laminate warranty commonly splits the wear surface, the core, and the installation, and the term on labor is often shorter than any term on the plank. A seam that opens, a plank that swelled because the floor was wet, and a dent the wear-surface warranty excludes are questions for that form. Read it. The warranty is not a dollar line in the planning range.
Homeowners insurance and a home warranty are contracts too. A standard homeowners policy is built around sudden and accidental damage. A floor ruined by a covered burst pipe or a covered fire is the kind of loss those policies sometimes respond to, and the replacement is part of that claim only to the extent the form says. A floor you chose to install, and a surface that aged out, are the kind of loss those policies commonly treat as maintenance. Read the form before you treat the policy as the budget. A home warranty may name the house and still exclude floor covering. Neither contract is inside the planning range.
As a cross-check, not a bid: 500 square feet at $5–$9 is $2,500–$4,500, the typical band. Five hundred times $5 is $2,500. Five hundred times $9 is $4,500. One hundred forty-four square feet at $3–$13 is $432–$1,872, one bedroom, under that band. One thousand square feet at $5 is $5,000, inside the wider spread and above the typical band. If a bid and that reading are far apart, the bid is a larger floor, a glue-down, a tear-out, a pad roll, a subfloor repair, a higher abrasion rating, or a floor the crew has to carry up a stair.
What moves the price
| Driver | How it changes the bid |
|---|---|
| Size | A 10×10 is $300–$1,300. A 12×12 is $432–$1,872. Two hundred square feet is $600–$2,600. About 500 square feet is $1,500–$6,500, and the typical band is the click-lock middle of that row, $2,500–$4,500. About 1,000 square feet is $3,000–$13,000. About 1,500 square feet is $4,500–$19,500. |
| Method | Click-lock is $5–$9 a square foot and is the typical band on about 500 square feet. Glue-down is $7–$11 and replaces the click-lock rate. The method is not a second price on top of the size row. |
| Material and labor | Material is $1–$5 a square foot. Labor on top of that material is $2–$8. Together they are the $3–$13 rate. A line the bid already includes is not a second line. |
| Removal, pad, subfloor | All three are outside the size row when the bid leaves them out. Removal is $2–$3 a square foot. A separate underlayment roll is $0.30–$0.60 a square foot. A subfloor repair is $2 a square foot, and about 200 square feet of that repair is $400. A click-lock floor over a sound subfloor, with an attached pad and no tear-out, does not get those rows. |
| The plank itself | A higher abrasion rating, named as extra on a basic plank, is $1–$3.50 a square foot. A row already at $13 does not get that line again. |
| Furniture and access | Moving furniture, when the bid leaves it out, is $20–$50 a room. A high-cost metro can clear the top of the typical band on a straightforward 500 square feet. An upstairs the boxes have to be carried to is labor, too. |
Square feet are the first cut, and they are not a rate times the whole house if only the bedrooms are in the bid. Measure the rooms. A 12×12 at $13 is $1,872. Five hundred square feet at $5 is $2,500. The smaller, higher-rate room can cost less than the larger, cheaper one, and the gap is the square feet. The crew does not scale in a straight line from a closet, which is why a real visit often does not land under $300.
The method is the second cut, and it is a substitute, not a stack. Click-lock and glue-down are ways to price one surface. Adding glue-down on top of a click-lock size row is how 500 square feet becomes a number nobody can compare.
Moving furniture, when the written price stopped before the rooms, is typically $20–$50 a room. On the typical band, the floor plus one room of moving is $2,520–$4,550. Twenty-five hundred plus $20 is $2,520. Forty-five hundred plus $50 is $4,550. The floor stays inside the typical band. The top has left it by $50 and stays inside the 500 square foot row. A shift the owner does is not this row. A move the proposal already includes is not a second move.
The same 500 square feet in a lower-cost area and in a high-labor city can sit at opposite ends of $2,500–$4,500 without either bid being wrong. Ask whether the old floor leaves, and ask whether the plank locks or is glued. Vinyl plank in a wet room, hardwood where you want wood that can be sanded later, and carpet in the bedrooms you are leaving soft are the projects that show up beside this one. Price them on their own pages. Two bids that disagree about the method, the tear-out, and whether the subfloor is in are not the same floor.
DIY or hire
Hire the glue-down and any floor whose subfloor has failed. The adhesive and a soft subfloor are the job. A weekend crew is most likely to miss the flatness and the expansion gap, and a locked floor on a wavy or wet subfloor shows up as a peaked seam.
A single rectangular room, click-lock, on a floor that is already flat and dry, can be a careful DIY if you will cut the planks and haul the waste. That is the labor line, $2–$8 a square foot, you are not hiring. The plank is still real. On 500 square feet, material at $1–$5 is $500–$2,500, and labor at $2–$8 is $1,000–$4,000. Five hundred and $1,000 is the $1,500 floor of the installed row. Twenty-five hundred and $4,000 is the $6,500 top. A DIY that buys the $5 plank has spent $2,500 before waste, which is the typical floor, and has not hired the labor. It is not the $2,500–$4,500 install with a secret discount. The installed row is the pro price. A house, a glue-down, and any floor that needs a subfloor repair are a hire.
Do not skip the flatness or the expansion gap to save a day. If you are pricing a leveler and a dumpster, you are pricing a contractor’s job without the crew.
Repair or replace
Replace the damaged planks when the wear is one spot and you can still get the same thickness and locking edge, and the rest of the floor can stay. Price those feet as new plank. Do not add a whole-room row for a closet of planks. Twenty square feet at $3 is $60, under the wider floor of $300, because a spot that small is not the 100 square foot visit. Twenty square feet at $13 is $260, still under that floor. Fifty square feet at $13 is $650, inside the wider spread and inside the 10×10 row. One hundred square feet at $13 is $1,300, the top of the 10×10 row. If the repair quote for those feet has reached the installed row for the same feet, price a replacement of those feet instead of a patch that costs the same.
Replace the floor when the wear layer is gone across the traffic lanes or the core is swollen because the floor got wet. Laminate is not sanded. A new coat is not a repair. Leaving a swollen floor to save the $2,500–$4,500 is how the next bid is a replacement anyway, after a second trip. A solid wood floor you can still sand is the hardwood floor guide. New wood in the same rooms is the hardwood flooring installation guide. A click-lock vinyl floor is the vinyl plank flooring guide. A soft floor you want in the bedrooms is the carpet installation guide. If the same season includes any of those, they are separate scopes. Do not fold them into the laminate price.
How long a new wear layer lasts is not a number on this page. A patched plank is not a warranty that the rest of the floor will wear like new. A replacement is not a warranty that a leak will miss the subfloor. The bid’s scope is the work you bought.
How to use this number
Ask two or three installers for a written price that names the square feet, whether the plank is click-lock or glue-down, whether the plank and the labor are both included, whether the old floor is removed, whether a separate pad is in, who moves the furniture, and what happens if the subfloor is soft. Compare about 500 square feet of click-lock laminate, installed, with $2,500–$4,500. Compare the rooms with $300–$1,300 for a 10×10, $432–$1,872 for a 12×12, $600–$2,600 for 200 square feet, $1,500–$6,500 for 500, $3,000–$13,000 for 1,000, and $4,500–$19,500 for 1,500. Compare the method with $5–$9 for click-lock and $7–$11 for glue-down. Keep the plank and the labor inside those rows. Put a left-out removal at $2–$3 a square foot, a left-out pad roll at $0.30–$0.60 a square foot, and a left-out subfloor repair at $2 a square foot on their own lines.
A very low bid on 500 square feet is a reason to ask whether the labor and the plank are both included, not a reason to celebrate. A quote near $300 should say a small room at the floor of the rate, not a hall and three bedrooms. A high bid should point at square feet, a tear-out, a subfloor repair, a glue-down, a higher abrasion rating, access, or the labor market. Two or three local bids on the same floor, the same method, and the same tear-out are the number that matters. How this site sets the band is explained on the methodology page.
Common questions
Answers describe national planning ranges, not your house.
How much does laminate flooring installation cost?
A typical planning range for laminate flooring installation cost is $2,500 to $4,500 for about 500 square feet, inside a wider spread of roughly $300 to $19,500. That scope is click-lock laminate, plank and labor included, floating on a floor that is already flat enough. Five hundred square feet at $5 is the $2,500 floor. Five hundred square feet at $9 is the $4,500 top. The installed rate is $3 to $13 a square foot, and the typical band is the click-lock middle of that rate. A single room, a glue-down, a tear-out the bid leaves out, and a subfloor repair are other lines. These are typical planning ranges, not quotes.
How much does laminate flooring cost?
Laminate flooring cost, for the same click-lock job, is the laminate flooring installation cost. About 500 square feet is typically $2,500 to $4,500. About 100 square feet is typically $300 to $1,300. About 200 square feet is typically $600 to $2,600. About 1,000 square feet is typically $3,000 to $13,000. A bid that says laminate flooring and a bid that says laminate flooring installation are the same dollars when the square feet, the method, and the labor match. Vinyl plank and hardwood are not that rate. These are typical planning ranges, not quotes.
How much does it cost to install laminate flooring?
The cost to install laminate flooring is the installed rate, typically $3 to $13 a square foot, when the plank and the labor are one job. About 500 square feet is $1,500 to $6,500 on that size row, and the typical band is the click-lock part from $2,500 to $4,500. Click-lock is $5 to $9. Glue-down is $7 to $11 and replaces that rate. A bid that is plank only, with the labor left out, is not the installed rate. Labor left out is $2 to $8 a square foot on top of material at $1 to $5. These are typical planning ranges, not quotes.
How much does laminate flooring cost per square foot?
Laminate flooring cost per square foot, installed, is typically $3 to $13, with the plank and the labor in that rate. Material is $1 to $5. Labor on top of that material is $2 to $8. One plus two is $3. Five plus eight is $13. Five hundred square feet at $3 is $1,500. Five hundred square feet at $5 is $2,500, the typical floor. Five hundred square feet at $13 is $6,500. Click-lock is $5 to $9 and is the middle of that rate. Glue-down is $7 to $11 and replaces the $5 to $9 rate. Do not add the foot price on top of a size row that was already built from it. These are typical planning ranges, not quotes.
How much does click-lock laminate flooring cost?
Click-lock laminate flooring cost, installed, is typically $5 to $9 a square foot. About 500 square feet is typically $2,500 to $4,500, the typical band. About 100 square feet of click-lock is $500 to $900. Glue-down is $7 to $11 and replaces the click-lock rate. It is not a second floor under a click-lock price. A plank with no attached pad, when the bid leaves the roll out, is $0.30 to $0.60 a square foot on its own line. These are typical planning ranges, not quotes.
